Why Your MLM
Sucks! (or not)
by Don Reid
Have you been
trying to make money with an online MLM? Working hard,
following everything your upline says, getting frustrated,
getting lots of rejection? getting tiny checks? Wondering
why its not working for you?

Here's why
your MLM sucks!

Awakening No. 1: Your Upline Are Not Going To Help You
Contrary to everything you have been told most of
your upline don't know much about building an MLM online
or offline. Most of your upline do not have any runs
on the board to point to at all. The main reason they
are your upline is they got in just before you!
So, if this is true they will not be
able to help you much right? Of course there will be
someone high up in your upline that does know how to
build an MLM....but....and you probably already know
this, they are always busy and you can never get any
time with them. This sounding familiar?
You are going to need to learn the
information yourself and forget about trying to have
your upline do it for you. You do want to know how to
do it anyway right?

Awakening No. 2: Where's Your Website Dude?
How are you expecting to form relationships
with prospects, leads and downline if you don't have
a website? I don't mean the recruiting website your
MLM provided.
I mean a real website that you own
and control what content it has.
I know many people that are either
successful in MLM or failures. The biggest difference
I see between these two groups is that the successful
ones ALL have a personal website. There are some absolutely
valid reasons for this. If you have your own website,
you can build your own optin mailing list. Everyone
on the net has been told to do this but not that many
do....guess which group the ones that don't have a personal
optin mailing list fall into. Here's why you need one.
When you have a website, you project instant "guru"
status. Well that's if you have good content. It's best
if it's original but interesting relevant articles from
people like Terry Dean are good as well. You also have
the ability to invite people to join your mailing list.
No obviously those that do, are interested in what you
have to say. If you manage this list carefully, it will
grow and become a very loyal following. when you do
occasionally promote a business opportunity a large
proportion of them will elect to join. Good deal right?
Just what you wanted right? So, where's your website
dude?

Awakening No.3: Leads Are Not Going To Instantly Sign
Up
Prospects and leads are NOT going to
jump into your MLM business just because you blasted
them with an email ad. That used to work a few years
ago but really doesn't anymore. Oh sure, you might sponsor
a few people now and then that way, but they are not
going to hang around for long. As soon as they don't
make the big money your ad promised, they will be out,
and you will be depressed and frustrated. So lets try
and avoid all that.
Here's how leads really work. They
do NOT work by blasting a prewritten generic email ad
to. We just agreed that doesn't work right? You need
to actually write an email to them. Make sure it does
NOT promise easy riches, automated systems, powerlines,
great products, fantastic compensation plans. None of
that stuff, totally forget it! Write to your leads as
though you were writing to your best friend or your
mother. Ask them some nice easy questions that should
perk their interest. INVITE them to respond to you if
they are interested in progressing further or learning
more. Simply have them reply to you. Now, I hear you
saying, hardly anyone will respond and I've just spent
80 bucks on these leads. So lets say 6 respond out of
1,000 ok? So would you be upset if those 6 joined you
and went on to be successful in your downline? No I
don't think you would be upset. You may have already
found your 6. Most MLM's to work, only need you to find
6.
So many
people miss the point of buying leads. It's to find
a few people that will join you and duplicate you.
It's
not to find 1,000.
Whatever the number that respond positively
to you, jump on the telephone and call them. Don't pressure
them to go sign up, this will scare them away. Ask them
some questions that will invite conversation. Get to
know them and what they like, don't like, what their
goals are, what they want, where they live, what its
like to live there...all sorts of stuff. If you just
ask questions and let them do the talking, guess what?
They will form a great opinion of you. They will think
you're intelligent, caring, experienced and a good listener.
Before you know it, your new best friend will be begging
you to get into your business. Now isn't that what you
really wanted all along?

Awakening No.4: You Don't Get Paid To Watch TV
You just signed up in the latest greatest
MLM ever invented. Your upline are all the biggest names
in the game. You're near the top of the compensation
plan. Man you're gonna be rich in no time! Time to settle
down with a beer and watch the TV and dream about when
those checks start rolling in.
Welcome
to failure.
You know deep down there is no such
thing as a free ride, especially to wealth. Stop fooling
yourself. Here's a hard reality.
Wages
are made 9 to 5, Riches are made After Hours!
Unless you are prepared to do what
it takes to make money online in MLM, you would be much
better off, quitting now, saving yourself the monthly
product cost and forgetting your dreams. I'm guessing
a few people are not going to be happy about me saying
that. In reality getting you to quit now is better for
everyone though.
Obviously YOU
ARE NOT A QUITTER. Quitters would never
bother reading this information. All I'm trying to say
in this section is that you are going to need to work.
you need to forget watching TV, hanging out with the
guys, forget spending hours in the mall or whatever
it is you currently do to waste time. STOP all those
things, you do not get paid for them.

Awakening No.5: There Are 15 Minutes Between Your Success
And Failure
You are a sum of the people you know
and the books you read....that's such an amazing statement.
Basically I get from it that if I want to be like all
the people I know then I should just do the same things
they do and read the same books they do. Most people
I know don't even read books.
So obviously if I want to be different
from them I need to read different books. I need to
read books that teach me how to be a better person and
how to build my business.
A lot of people don't like reading
books, thats a bit too bad, those same people don't
like being broke either I suspect. Not reading is going
to guarantee they stay broke though. All it takes is
15 minutes per day. I know of a small private room in
every house that no one is going to disturb you for
15 minutes and while you're in there, you could easily
read a few pages....right? Good. Get Some Books!
